This is a controversial one! I personally *loved* Parsons in Bonnie & Clyde, the MVP of the movie alongside Dunaway.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

The Oscars, on YouTube, have some videos of winners which include 1967 Best Supporting Actress Estelle Parsons.

    Can they be linked here?

Loathe. One of the most annoying performances ever

Honestly…she’s grown on me over the years. I’d be tempted to say she would’ve gotten my personal vote as well out of those nominees.

However, had Anne Bancroft been put in Supporting, then that would’ve been a very easy and deserved win.

Loathe. It’s spelled with an “e.”

But Estelle Parsons was fantastic the following year in “Rachel, Rachel”! She’s endured as a stellar character actress to this day, so no hate here. Just absolutely not for “Bonnie & Clyde.”

I mean her character was supposed to be annoying and hilarious and she was. I’m not sure it was Oscar worthy. But there have been a slew of worse winners in that category. The movie wouldn’t have been the same without that character and performance.

I thought she was annoying as hell but very effective and absolutely hilarious in the part. Still, it was a completely one-dimensional character and unworthy of the Oscar. Anne Bancroft should have been nominated in the supporting actress category for The Graduate and would have won handily over Estelle.
