This is the beginning of a new series. We’ll take stars/directors one by one. Next one will be a prominent screenwriter.

Because you’re asking if people love or loathe Kate Winslet. It doesn’t matter whether one thinks she’s an excellent actress or an overrated one. Or if you love a performance of hers or hate it. You’re asking people to love or hate some random person who just happens to be an Academy Award winning actor which not only is so narrow minded but is also encouraging very toxic behaviour derived from obsessive tabloids. The same would apply to an actor or creative.
Likewise it’s just incredibly tiring how female actors are pitted against each other on sites like these with these constant love or loathe polls, ageist and sexist comments around an actresses age and/or appearance, judging a female actors career and status and talent through when it was the last time they had an awards contending film or show… not only are these male performers’ counterparts not treated in the same regard and such discourses are often vile but what relevance do any of these things have on a site used primarily to talk about awards predictions and for film/theatre/TV fans to talk about the quality of performances and work put into what is essentially at its core art.

What happened with the threads on Belfast and Power of the Dog?

Not that music forum user, Abelfenty, liking this. Unsurprising they have bad film taste and is misogynistic.
