I’m predicting for Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Supp. Actress, Original Screenplay noms at least at the minute. Based off the trailer it could get a few more below the line noms like Cinematography, Editing, Costume Design. I hope it does well because it looks and sounds fantastic. Whilst I think there’s still a slim chance it isn’t really involved I’m currently really liking the look of it personally and for the Oscars.
Costume design? That’s pushing it. Its just normal clothes.August 20, 2019 at 11:50 am #1203031986
Those teasers are fantastic. Loving Johansson here more than Driver (have never been the biggest fan of his), but both still look good. Johansson is coming for the win, tbh.August 20, 2019 at 12:01 pm #1203032000
I hope this goes Drama at the Globes. Adam winning there would make him a strong frontrunnerAugust 20, 2019 at 12:15 pm #1203032034
I just … can’t make sure of anything out of both teasers. I guess it just kinda depends on how the award season will treat it. It will definitely be well-received. But it can either go Manchester By the sea, or … blue valentine
I’ve heard comparisons to Kramer vs Kramer from someone who’s seen it.August 20, 2019 at 12:35 pm #1203032080
Scarlett only had a sizable precursor haul once, when she was a teenager, soAugust 20, 2019 at 12:36 pm #1203032082
Scarjo has been thirsting for an Oscar since she was a teen and still hasn’t gotten so much as a nomination. And the Oscars love young pretty blondes, even Margot Robbie got a nom before Scarjo. Predicting a win this early is absurd. Let more people see the film, lets see what the reviews and Oscar campaign are like.August 20, 2019 at 12:43 pm #1203032099
Johansson will be in two BP nominees this year (this and Jojo Rabbit) and the stars haven’t aligned for her this much since 2003, which makes it hard to judge that voters “don’t like her” or something when there hasn’t been this opportune of a moment. I still think Erivo’s ahead of her but if Harriet flops I can certainly see ScarJo as a nice fallback options for voters to crown (so long as she can keep her foot out of her mouth).August 20, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1203032139

Does anyone really think that Renee Zellweger is winning Best Actress for Judy?August 20, 2019 at 2:23 pm #1203032226
Looks good, but also like a flop

Omg this looks great, I’m perched. I agree that Driver looks like he’s doing more than Johansson.August 20, 2019 at 3:02 pm #1203032303

How is predicting a win this early absurd? The buzz for the film and her performance are through the roof. Either people from GD don’t look for stuff like that or they just choose to ignore it because word is that it’s the real deal. And what else are you supposed to do on forums like this besides make predictions? Not to mention it’s not even that early anymore. It’s late August, we know that the film is screening at Venice, Telluride, TIFF and NYFF which clearly shows Netflix’s confidence and we already have a pretty good idea of which contenders are actual contenders and which aren’t. I think there’s a Johansson bias going on here because if this was any other actress, they’d definitely be predicted for a nomination at the very least, and probably a win as well.August 20, 2019 at 3:02 pm #1203032305
All the ScarJo haters this season are gonna seethe. Can’t wait. They’re the worst.
