Team cast and crew, always. Hope the guilds and AMPAS get behind ScarJo. It takes a woman. None of the Marvel bros woulda dared.

Disney’s arrogance is stunning. After all, Warners adjusted Gail Gadot’s and Patty Jenkins’ compensation for Wonder Woman 1984, and Paramount did the same for Emily Blunt and John Krasinski for A Quiet Place Part 2. I wonder if Disney would have done the same with a Marvel star they “needed” to star in more films in an ongoing tent-pole franchise.

Now Emma Stone and Gerard Butler are planning to sue too.

Scarlett Johansson created a domino effect, she’s truly a trendsetter, lool.

Emma isn’t suing. Her reward is the a sequel. Disney will settle behind close doors for her unlike Scarjo who is out of Marvel. Gerard is suing for a very old movie, I doubt the decision was influenced by her suit. But I hope the acting guild supports her because Disney is going to defame her and dig up lot of dirt.

ScarJo spilled, and I doubt that the Cruella sequel is getting made, so hopefully Emma sues and wins. Disney and ScarJo just opened up a lot of doors and created a chain reaction for stars to now be demanding more transparency from streamers and their viewership numbers when it comes to all of this stuff so they can negotiate for higher salaries. Disney is dumb for not getting ahead of this, even going as far as ignoring ScarJo’s reps and lawyers 💀 they should’ve done what WB did and now they might have to deal with even bigger payouts than what would’ve been given out otherwise should it go the wrong way for them.

But once again, none of the male marvel stars are coming to defend ScarJo but will for a homophobic Chris Pratt. Consider me shocked.

Disney simply thought no one would dare go against them and hence ghosted her. All other studios tried to avoid controversy by giving their actors an additional cheque. If Scarjo wins , then lot more people will sue Disney, they choose to not pay one actress some extra millions and now they might have to pay lot more to emboldened artists. But I do think Scarjo is gonna lose the suit 95%.

they already tried when they made that statement knowing how much the internet hates her. You can’t bring up scarjo’s name on twitter without someone going “We hate her, but…” Expect another smear campaign. They gon dig up the perfect takedown angle sometime in the future. Good thing scarjo’ seems to have thick skin; Bryan Lourd and his cabal with protect her

this reminds me Disney was behind GITS being purchased by Dreamworks. I believe Margot Robbie was supposed to be starring in it, but then they got her offered suicide squad instead and got scarjo $10M to come on board. She herself has said some stupid shit, but god as an Asian myself I’m so tired of the Asian jokes.

    Question!

Did they actually breach the contract? The film was technically released in all theaters.

Good for Scarjo. Hope she wins in court. So what if Disney does a smear campaign on her she has publicly supported Woody Allen and said she wanted to play a tree in response to Whitewashing. She ran a smear campaign on herself.

    Michelle Williams Oscar campaign manager.

Entirely agreed. She has been tone deaf on multiple occasions but Disney isn’t better than her lol. They are responsible for a lot of whitewashing, underpaying and overworking labourers , stealing from writers and giving employment to predators.
People keep bringing up her defense of Woody Allen which was gross but the studios in the first place gave that man work despite the accusations.
Regardless Disney is going to launch a smear campaign and woke twitter will fall for it as usual.

I have had a feeling she wants a break from acting. She has been working constantly since she was a teen. The only project she has on plate for future is the Sebastial Lelio directorial and tower of terrors with Disney which is definitely cancelled. She is also starting a skin care line. I am guessing she will take a long break hence she is going after the big guns. Unlike many of her peers she does not seem hungry for an Oscar.
So I don’t expect Emma stone or E Blunt to sue because they do care about the future of their Hollywood careers.

Isn’t she pregnant rn? she has Tower of Terror (not happening lol), and that Leilo film in development. She’s having a kid and prob wants to work on her marriage (no offence she doesn’t have a good track record). I doubt she’ll have anything coming out till 2024-5 maybe. So yeah, she’s good. Stone & Blunt on the other hand are booked and busy, I don’t think they want to dip their toes in this mess.

Film Festivals are currently happening. Expect more actors to be put in a position

I believe the contract stated an exclusive theatrical release. So, yes, dual streaming and theatrical release would constitute breach of contract. I actually think she has a pretty solid case. Especially considering there’s an email chain with the general counsel of Marvel stating renegotiations would take place if there were any deviation from this strategy. She wouldn’t do this if her legal team didn’t feel strongly. Good for her.

You are wildly overestimating the SJW Twitter bubble. No one aside from that bubble hates her online, and it seems that the overwhelming majority of the public online is on her side.
She is a widely beloved movie star/actress in real life (especially by the male audience). And she’s likely to win this cause, unless Disney wants to get it to arbitration to limit the damages.

    Update on The Drama

Well, out of everyone, Jason fucking Blum speaks out. ““It’s a much bigger existential fight that she’s really leading,” says producer Jason Blum. “It’s a very difficult thing to do, it’s really brave to do and she’s fighting for all of talent.” https://twitter.com/kimmasters/status/1422919942647664646?s=20

And then… “Disney Lawyer Daniel Petrocelli Calls ‘Black Widow’ Lawsuit an ‘Orchestrated PR Campaign’” https://twitter.com/Variety/status/1423767151509389320?s=20

BUT then, “SAG-AFTRA President On Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ Lawsuit: “Disney Should Be Ashamed”” https://twitter.com/DEADLINE/status/1423797609760575488?s=20
