I expected to like Plimpton more, because I’ve never been a huge fan of Dowd. I did prefer her here, however. Though at points, to me, it felt like she was verging on attempting to be too sincere- if this makes sense. A little much.

All were excellent. I really enjoyed the movie.

I’m just bumping this because everyone just needs to watch this already.

No other film this season has made me feel the depth of emotion as this one. It’s just so vast and so small at the same. And so perfectly made, written and acted.

At the very least I hope it gets original screenplay, if not also as many acting noms as they can manage.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

The entire cast should be nominated.

It’s a crime if this film get shut out completely from the Oscars darling.

    FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

Michelle Yeoh, Everything Everywhere All At Once
    Tang Wei, Decision To Leave

James Hong & Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything Everywhere All At Once

Yep, i really liked all the 4 performances but Isaacs, plimpton and Dowd all were oscar worthy in my opinion. Too bad it is a popularity contest these days and who critics back up.

So… this is masterpiece and Martha Plimpton is 100% that bitch.

Preferred her the most but all of the core four were fabulous, the film would’ve fallen apart if they all weren’t perfectly in sync with each other. For a film that’s nearly 1hr 30mins of just four people talking in the same room, it was such an easy watch, it could’ve easily fallen in the trappings of being too much like a filmed staged play but was directed and edited so flawlessly I couldn’t taken my eyes away.

    Bravo to all involved.

Whatever happens to this film in coming weeks, it’s amazing to note that every single person commenting on this thread is blown away. One by one, as they see it and then come here to comment on it, it’s just one rave after another.

I really enjoyed Mass. I think all 4 of the actors did an amazing job ESPECIALLY Jason, Martha and Ann. It was pretty good to see Ann Dowd nominated ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

So I finally got around to watching Mass (maybe cause I was secretly dreading that it wouldn’t live upto my expectations)and masterpiece seems to be the correct word to describe it.
For a movie that’s basically a conversation , I can’t begin to describe the nuance and compassion with which this script has been written. All 4 (and I mean ALL 4) performances should’ve been recognized at awards. But if I had to pick a MVP I would pick Ann Dowd by the slimmest of margins mainly for that shattering final story.
Its unbelievable how the movie just ran its course with once feeling repetitive or forced. It’s unfortunate how terrible their Oscar Campaign was cause this movie should be competitive for the win.

This was such an incredible film. All four actors were amazing and gave brilliant performances.
