Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke excellent in Maudie (Hawke getting to grunt like a younger Eastwood), as well as Kari Matchett seemingly channeling Cate Blanchett in Carol. It’s a Seraphine + My Left Foot + Mr. Turner type of role for Hawkins. Film decent reviews so she will need good box office and critics support to probably push through, but she delivers.
