Out of her 21 nominations at the Oscars which ones do you think Queen Meryl truly deserves to win and we’re there any other times where you thought she should have been nominated when she wasn’t
IMO She deserved to win for
Kramer v. Kramer-1980
A Cry in the Dark-1989
The Devil Wears Pravda-2007
The Iron Lady-2012
And she should Have Been Nominated for
Death Becomes Her
The HoursNovember 10, 2018 at 2:48 pm #1202672203

I know right? This woman was so supporting in The Devil Wears Prada, that would’ve been a more logical third Oscar. No way she was Lead. She was gone for long parts of the movie, you know, probably planning how to be a fabulous bitch as Miranda Priestly.

Now that i think of it…she may be supporting in that film but whatever she’s meryl streep she even could have gone lead on into the woods.November 10, 2018 at 9:16 pm #1202672394This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.November 10, 2018 at 9:21 pm #1202672395
Gosh, there are so many great ones. Sophie’s Choice is the obvious slam-dunk, and deservedly so. I’ve always been partial to her performance in Julie and Julia, as well (I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen it). I agree with a lot of posters that she should have been nominated in Supporting (and won) for The Devil Wears Prada, and I thought she was deserving in August, Osage County.November 10, 2018 at 10:32 pm #1202672404
She is absolutely amazing in Out of Africa.November 10, 2018 at 11:52 pm #1202672422
It’s funny how with all of Streep’s nominations there were really only two times that there was any suspense involved as to whether she would win or not. (For French Lieutenant’s Woman the thinking was she would win and The Iron Lady was really close with her and Viola Davis) All the other times the results were expected.
If she’d won for French Lieutenant over Hepburn she’d have the record now with 4 wins.November 10, 2018 at 11:56 pm #1202672423
Should have won for……
Julie and Julia
The Devil Wears Prada (in the supporting category though)
Shouldn’t have won for The Iron Lady or be nominated for The Post. Two weak performances in poor movies

Taron Egerton (Rocketman) for best actor. Charlize Theron looks great in Bombshell teaserNovember 11, 2018 at 12:08 am #1202672430This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.November 11, 2018 at 1:53 am #1202672463
I would have given her wins for: Kramer vs. Kramer, Sophie’s Choice, The Devil Wears Prada and The Post
Unpopulqr opinion but Meryl’s witch in Into the woods deserved every inch of that Oscar nomination. Anyone wants proof? watch her last midnight rendition.
Agreed. The nomination was definitely earned, particularly in a weak year.
