I’m not even entertaining some of the comments in this thread, but there are enough biopics and documentaries of Michael Jackson. There doesn’t need to be anymore. Pretty simple.

This is a disaster in the making. The casting ALONE would be controversial as hell no matter what they do. And those allegations getting brought back up really did a number on his legacy. I think the only way to do an MJ biopic successfully is to narrow down the time frame to a very small part of his life, like the early 80s.

I know they couldn’t make this movie without the blessing of the Michael Jackson estate, family and kids…are they that desperate for money? You’d think they would finally leave this man alone but they want to drag him through the mud and use him for money even after death.

I don’t think anyone can touch Jackson in our lifetime. It’ll either be completely sanitised by his family or will be a witch-hunt. I don’t think there’d be any middle ground. And there would be controversy and a sh*tstorm whichever direction they went in.

I cannot even think of who I would cast to play Michael Jackson in a biopic. Michael Jackson’s paler skin complexion as a result of his vitiligo is a very specific image to depict on film and I suppose I’m just very mistrustful that anyone is going to get that right or make it look accurate without it looking caricature-esque (lest we forget the horror of Joseph Fiennes playing him in Urban Myths…).
