Florence Pugh, come take my non-existent wig, my money, and your rightful Oscar nom.

I am ready to be spooked. The colors and the openness of this trailer alone are in direct contrast to the dark claustrophobic atmosphere Aster created in “Hereditary,” so I’m confident he’ll give us something new and original, but just as upsetting and personal as “Hereditary.”March 6, 2019 at 8:20 am #1202805926
This looks fun.April 3, 2019 at 9:48 pm #1202839250
New release date is: July 3rd. So Midsommar is actually being moved to the middle of summer lol.

This looks absolutely disgusting. I’m not liking it.

I’m getting “The Wicker Man” vibes from this.

Also, Jordan Peele praised the film from an early screening, calling it an “ascension of horror” and “atrociously disturbing.” And here’s a press screening invitation:
“You are invited,” I’m not so sure I want to be lol.

I’m so ready to support this film. The colours and cinematography look gorgeous.

Hereditary was my favorite film from last year. This could not come any sooner.June 19, 2019 at 8:00 am #1202944111
Starting out with a 70 on Metacritic (based on 5) and 100 on RT (based on 8 reviews). Mostly, I’ve been seeing that Aster has gotten over the sophomore slump and it’s a “mind f**k.” Pugh has gotten strong notices, but they don’t take over the reviews like Colette did. Though, she has been said to keep the film together and gives a great performance. Vanity Fair says to expect a similar audience score as Hereditary.

Just finished watching this almost two hours ago. Pugh, Aster, the cinematography, and score all deserve nods. Completely killed it. But this was the unintentional comedy of the decade lol (my theater was cracking up the entire time). As far as horror and reception goes, audiences are definitely going to hate it more than Hereditary, so expect that F on CinemaScore.
I’ll post some more of my thoughts about it later.
