Camille Cottin being a part of the Golda cast increased my interest in it: Golda, written by Florence Foster Jenkins’ Nicholas Martin, follows the events faced by the ‘Iron Lady of Israel’ during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. Cottin will play Lou Kaddar, Golda’s long-time personal assistant. Her further credits include House Of Gucci, Stillwater, Killing Eve and the French remake of Fleabag, Mouche. Source: https://www.screendaily.com/news/camille-cottin-joins-cast-of-golda-embankment-unveils-international-pre-sales/5165250.article

White Noise and Women Talking since I loved the books they’re adapted from and think they have great people attached to them. Also Showing Up (if it comes out in time) because Kelly Reichardt is a genius. And of course Bones And All so I can finally have some Chloe Sevigny content.

    Emmy FYC:

Chloë Sevigny in “The Girl From Plainville” and “Russian Doll”

    Babylon
    The Banshees of Inisherin
    The Batman
    The Fabelmans
    Nope
    The Northman
    Poor Things
    She Said
    Thirteen Lives
    Thor: Love and Thunder

Also After Yang but that’s technically a 2021 release.

In recent years, Vanity Fair has provided the first exclusive looks at awards contenders (OUATIH, Dune and Nightmare Alley). I hope that happens again this year with Babylon and Poor Things. I’m so excited to see Emma in Poor Things. I haven’t read the book, but it sounds insane.

I don’t know but IMDb doesn’t indicate that filming has even commenced yet and identifies only Maggie Smith as actor, Jonathan Kent as director and producer, and Christopher Hampton as writer as being involved. The fact that no production company or distributor is listed makes me strongly doubt that this film will be released this year, but of course, IMDb entries are often very out-of-date.

My hope for the 2023 season is that the lineup isn’t entirely made up of actors from biopics. I know Cate, Carey and Naomi are all in biopics but Florence, Margot and Emma aren’t. This season started out with potential and excitement, and then all these bland biopics with mediocre and forgettable performances over performed.

The Menu-with Anya- is based on an original idea but I don’t know if it’ll release this year. Asteroid City is also original. White Noise is based on a book, but Greta is strangely listed as “uncredited” on IMDB.

Does anyone think Asteroid City could premiere at Cannes this year? (it still doesn’t have a distributor).

I thought it is under Searchlight?
