Which actress do you think is the most overdue for an Oscar win?February 5, 2016 at 7:47 pm #215492
Jessica Chastain on this list, in general Rooney MaraFebruary 5, 2016 at 7:50 pm #215493
Hmmm..Sigourney, Glenn, Annette. Tough choice.
I’ll go with Weaver.February 5, 2016 at 7:54 pm #215494
Amazing Amy! er, I’m not talking about Nick Dunne’s amazing wife hereFebruary 5, 2016 at 8:05 pm #215495
From this list, Glenn Close.February 5, 2016 at 8:12 pm #215496
Amy Adams was never the best in her category, so she was never snubbed. She is not that overdue. I hope Glenn Close wins an Oscar one dayFebruary 5, 2016 at 8:24 pm #215497
Viola Davis should’ve had one many many moons ago. PeAcE.February 5, 2016 at 8:38 pm #215498
Clearly Amy Adams. Should win next year for Story of Your Life or Nocturnal AnimalsFebruary 5, 2016 at 9:05 pm #215499
Even though Rosamund Pike has only had one nomination, it was one hell of a performance that should’ve won and was easily the best with the highest degree of difficulty. So in that sense, I would say Amazing Amy 😉 I voted for Jessica Chastain, though. She never has a bad performance and is always brilliant. Hoping she finally gets a win with The Zookeeper’s Wife or Blonde or hell even both. I also hope that eventually down the line she’ll be a two-time winner or hell even three, but that’s pretty unlikely unfortunately. Viola Davis is very overdue as well, as she should’ve won for “The Help.” Glenn Close, Michelle Pfeiffer, Annette Bening, and Sigourney Weaver should all also have won by the now, but they aren’t relevant anymore. Because of this, I don’t think they’ll ever win because they simply won’t get the material necessary for a win. They could surprise, but I doubt it.February 5, 2016 at 9:34 pm #215500
Glenn Close. Other very deserving actresses still have time, chastain, adams, davis. The only way I can see Close winning is in a Christopher Plummer situation…good enough perf. with no clear front runner, likely supporting and not her most deserving perf.February 5, 2016 at 10:08 pm #215501
Wow, I didn’t even realize Sigourney Weaver had never won an Oscar. That’s nuts.February 5, 2016 at 10:27 pm #215502
Glenn Close (maybe the rumored Sunset Boulevard musical adaptation will be her ticket)February 5, 2016 at 11:11 pm #215503
I don’t see how Glenn Close is leading this poll. Have you seen her body of work in film in the last let’s say 15 years? Yes, once she had it all, but just because she’s nominated 6 times, it doesn’t mean she automatically deserves an Oscar, especially if her filmography is mediocore nowadays.February 5, 2016 at 11:11 pm #215504

She was the best for both Junebug and The Fighter. You tried, boy.February 6, 2016 at 12:56 am #215505

You can’t possibly know what kind of different reasons lie behind our votes and there is no evidence that people voted for her because she has 6 nominations.
You also definitely don’t need to be topical to be considered an overdue. It’s not her fault that there aren’t enough roles for women at her age and her body of work in the past 15 years is still better than half of our recent Oscar winners.
