What do you think Oscar wins and nominations that based purely for political purpose, not for the merit of the work?

The only MCU film getting BP? It’s political, man. Score should have gone to First Man or Beale Street. The former was even not nominated.

May 4, 2021 at 3:03 am #1204241880BLACK PANTHER is one of the best Comic book movies of all time, told a poignant story, and had amazing reviews on top of it being one of the biggest films of all time. Add to that the crafts, the great score, the good acting, and the fact that it is UNAPOLOGETICALLY BLACK. It deserved all of its praise.

There’s a difference between “if it deserves the nom” and “if it’s a political nom.”
Black Panther deserves its BP nom for being an iconic black-cast film (this is already a political reason), but the nom 100% benefits MUCH from political reasons as a MCU movie.
–Is it the best MCU film? No. (Definitely not for GP)
–Does it deserve to be the only MCU film getting BP nom? Yes.
–Can it be considered as a political nom? Yes.ReplyCopy URLCoen-Lynch-Fellini

This sounds no different than any other highest-rated Marvel movie. Then why were they barely in any discussion to be a top BP contender? Why? You just ended your sentence with the key reason and it IS political.

The fact that the LGBT-theme “Out” and “In the Heartbeat” couldn’t get nominated also seems political for me.

It didn’t, it was a boring mess, Black Panther was an idiot, he wasn’t the same Black Panther of Civil War
