The Red Shoes snubbed for color cinematography by Jack Cardiff the year after he won for Black Narcissus. Should also have been nominated for the inaugural costume design award (there were only two nominees each for b/w and color), Powell and Pressburger as directors, and Anton Walbrook’s and Moira Shearer’s lead performances. At least it won two very well-deserved Oscars for Hein Heckroth’s sets and Brian Easdale’s music, the latter being probably the most deserving winner in the category’s history.
Bonnie and Clyde snubbed for editing. This just boggles my mind; the film received 10 nominations but missed for its most innovative aspect in favour of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?!
2001: A Space Odyssey snubbed for cinematography, editing and sound.August 23, 2019 at 5:25 am #1203035935

Every acting snub from a Lynch movie. Sure, they can not like his films, but can you really deny the acting forces in his films?
Snubbing Isabella Rossellini and Dennis Hopper for Blue Velvet was atrocious, but Naomi Watts for Mulholland Drive and Laura Dern for Inland Empire is too much.
Also, Amy Adams for Arrival. It should’ve been between her and Isabelle Huppert.
