My five: Cafe Society, Hail, Caesar!, Indignation, Paterson and Love and Friendship.
I am amazed that Cafe Society isn’t being considered for Best Cinematography, Production Design and Costume Design. I found it to be top-notch Woody Allen and better than Midnight In Paris.
Hail, Caesar! has great Production Design and Costume Design, and I personally loved Channing Tatum’s hilarious performance.
Indignation: SHOCKED it didn’t get any Indie Spirit nominations! Best First Feature, Best Director (James Schamus), Male Lead (Logan Lerman), Supporting Male (Tracy Letts), Supporting Female (Linda Emond and Sarah Gadon), and Screenplay. It’s a wonderful powerful movie adaptation of a Philip Roth novel.
Love and Friendship could get a Costume Design nomination; Kate Beckinsale is superb as is the screenplay.
Paterson has a terrific central performance (yes, he won the LA film crtics prize, but he’s not factoring anywhere else). and a terrific script too.

I´d love, if Rebecca Hall got in for Best Actress for Christine and Lily Gladstone whould get in for Certin Women.

10 Cloverfield Lane – for the should be Oscar frontrunner John Goodman.
A Monster Calls – Lewis MacDougall needs to be in the Best Actor conversation.

please tell me this is a joke
Just a Best Director nomination for Barry Sonnenfeld. The ultimate lone director nomination. Nine Lives is the critically underrated film of the summer. Maybe even of the year.
