Since this isn’t a contest on the predictions center, I thought it would be nice to predict these, given that they are usually the starting point to the movie awards season.
Winners will be revealed on Tuesday (in the afternoon, usually).
I’m guessing their Best Picture pick will be SILENCE. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s La La Land or Hell or High Water, though.
Then for their “Top Ten Films”: La La Land, Hell or High Water, Fences, Sully, Jackie, Arrival, Live by Night, Moonlight, Patriot’s Day, Manchester by the Sea. I’m probably not being too smart by leaving Hacksaw Ridge out.
Best Director: Damien Chazelle
Best Actor: Casey Affleck
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor: Liam Neeson
Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis

Documentary: O.J.: Made in America
Foreign Language Film: The Salesman
Ensemble: Fences
Best Original Screenplay: Manchester by the Sea
Best Adapted Screenplay: Arrival

Sorry if you did!
Just one thing: for some reason, their Best Picture is NOT in their “Top Ten Films” list.

The LobsterNovember 27, 2016 at 1:37 pm #1201957401Does anybody know for sure whether the NBR will be able to see “Silence”. I am reminded of the year when “There Will Be Blood” played no part in their awards, while other groups were showering it with top awards, because not enough members saw it.

As far as I know it already screened to them.

Wonder will they “find a way” to grant this to all 3 Chiron’s??

That’s likely overkill if “Moonlight” wins Best Ensemble. But Sanders is the breakthrough performance of the year as far as I’m concerned, so I placed him there individually anyways.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 1:41 pm #1201957916What time are they announced tomorrow? Cause last year it took all day.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 28, 2016 at 1:49 pm #1201957920And I peeped at Awardswatch forums and them obsessively calling Nicole Kidman “Legend” saying she wins NBR. Cringed a little.
