That time of year when the first mentions of major awards contenders make their entrance through these hacks. As always, they love A24 and suck Warner Bros’ dick dry.

They are the most steak eaters critics awards ever. Kinda ironic they pick A24 films which is usually the opposite of their old white men voting demographic. But I guess they have to make “artistic” choice somehow to still be credible

They also almost never fail to give something to a Clint Eastwood film. Expect Richard Jewell to win something.

    In alphabetical order

    • Bombshell
    • Ford V Ferrari
    • Jojo Rabbit
    • Joker
    • Little Women
    • Marriage Story
    • Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
    • The Farewell
    • The Irishman
    • The Lighthouse

ALT: A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood, Just Mercy (WB), Hustlers, Waves, Toy Story 4/Avengers Endgame (they love blockbuster pandering, and Joker might not be enough to satiate them)

I’m skeptical about Joker/Ford V Ferrari in Best Picture, but this is a steak-eating studio voting crowd. Joker is WB, so…

1917 and Richard Jewell aren’t there due to premiere times maybe being unlikely.

Special Award: Parasite, since they did that for Roma.

    For Your Consideration:

    Best Picture: Parasite

Last year the NBR went with “Green Book.” That was the first time in 10 years that it previewed the Best Picture winner at the Oscars.

Given how much they love Warner Bros. Expect a lot of love for Joker and Richard Jewel.

What time are they gonna announce winners? Nominees? Where can I watch it?

I just love movies. And awards.

They don’t have an exact time because it depends on the deliberation process. Last year they announced it around 11 AM PT.
