They tend to like a lot:

    • Eastwood
    • Scorsese
    • Clooney
    • political films

Since the first three are not really factors this year (I think) they’ll go with The Post in some categories have they sent screeners (I don’t know even if people from National Board of Review needs to see the films to nominate them… wasn’t a controversy a while ago about it? LOL)

They also love Spielberg so they will pick The Post to be among their top 10.

I’m moving my comment from another thread. I can see them going with:

    Best Picture: Dunkirk

The rest of their potential top 10 in ABC order:

    Blade Runner 2049
    Coco
    Call Me By Your Name
    Get Out
    Lady Bird
    Phantom Thread
    The Post
    The Shape of Water
    3 Billboards

They do like Pixar and PTA so I see Coco & The Phantom Thread getting in.

One interesting thing about NBR. Getting Best Picture from them is like the Sports Illustrated jinx. In the last 20 years, the film they like the most has only won twice!

Looks like the ones with the most mentions are 3 Billboards, Call Me By Your Name, Get Out, Lady Bird, The Post and The Shape of Water. So it will be a shock if any of those are not on the NBR list.

It will be fun to see the actually list on Tuesday.
