These guys used to be the most unpredictable and exciting of the critics awards, however the last year or so they have gone with the consensus. Still I think they are the most interesting and most likely to throw a curveball
My predictions :
Picture – The Florida Project
Director – Sean Baker (The Florida Project)
Actor – James Franco (The Disaster Artist)
Actress – Frances McDormand (Three Billboards)
**Actress is toughest category they may throw a total curveball here eg Diane Kruger or Annette Bening**
Supporting Actor – Willem Dafoe (The Florida Project)
Supporting Actress – Bria Vinaite (The Florida Project)
Screenplay – Greta Gerwig ((Ladybird)
Cinematography – Dan Laustsen (The Shape of Water)
Foreign Film – BPM
Documentary – Faces Places
BTW – I love the fact that most of these will be wrong

Very close between Hawkins and Ronan for BA , finally Maudie gets some recognition.
Laurie Metcalf won fairly easily

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 6, 2018 at 10:27 am #1202457910Woah, NYFCCA truly fucked this one up by going with Ronan. Hawkins could have a clean sweep with The Big Three. Fuck you, New York! And I am so fucking happy for Salleh! You go gurl!
But wasn’t Hawkins first and Ronan second?

It’s a bit surprising because The Shape of Water doesn’t seem as highbrow a film as this group usually embraces (let alone Maudie). But happy for her
