I have a feeling they purposefully decided to spread the wealth a little since given their ott love for Tar they probably would’ve put it at least 2nd if they didn’t already know the previous wins.

Yes it’s unusual that their Best Film winner’s director couldn’t even place. Voting took forever for Best Director, so I’m sure members were debating whether or not they gave Tar too many wins. This isn’t the way to go though because the director should be placing if they directed their best film. Whatever.

Michelle (Yeoh, Williams) Oscar campaign manager.

    FYC:
Best Picture: Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Decision to Leave
Best Director: Park Chan-Wook Todd Field
Best Original Screenplay: Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All At Once
    Best Actor: Colin Farrell
Best Actress: Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett, Tang Wei
Best Supporting Actor: Brendan Gleeson, Ke Huy Quan
Best Supporting Actress: Kerry Condon, Nina Hoss

So happy at Park placing. I still think he can snatch a spot in the Director lineup.

Might have seen a different outcome if director had been voted on before picture like it should have.

I had the same thought. If it was before Picture, I think Field would at least have been a runner-up.

Eo again? And what the what is No Bears?

it’s a film by Jafar Panahi. I’d guess that part of it garnering support is partially due to the fact that he was imprisoned in Iran for defying the regime and the film industry is rallying behind him. It’s also a great film about dynamics and ethics of filmmaking with/about vulnerable people.

That’s an exclusive list Tar joins to win the Best Pic trifecta but only Schindler’s List and Hurt Locker went on to win big at the Oscars.

Yes! EO swept the trifecta (in the foreign language film category). I hope this gives it the strength it needs to get into International Feature.

Honestly, at this point I don’t tknow what’s stopping people from predicting it.
