Yet, six acting nominees is silly–if you already cannot find five good performances, what makes them think they can find six, and that those six will be more “diverse?” Lol
Loathe the idea of forcing performers to choose which category to enter their performance.
The directing longlisting process is interesting…I will wait to see any results before I pass judgment. It has potential to result in fascinating nominees, but I am hesitant to believe this will actually occur.

September 24, 2020 at 11:45 am #1203732122Now that BAFTA is having 6 acting nominees a category, will the oscars do the same?

Kate Winslet about to submit herself for supporting actor if it means she gets to show up to the ceremony. Whew

Let’s pray they don’t.

She’s showing up anyway. She’s a BAFTA darling!

I’m guessing people being mad about the last is what prompted this.
No more Margot Robbie being nominated for two performances at the same time I’m assuming.
ReplyCopy URLSeptember 24, 2020 at 2:19 pm #1203732344I hope these changes lead to them having different winners than Oscars, in addition to leading them to have inspiring nominees.
ReplyCopy URLSeptember 24, 2020 at 2:29 pm #1203732369I hope BAFTA stops being a lame, and most of the time incorrect, precursor to the Oscars.
Hopefully they just become their own awards show.
