    3. I highly doubt that people of the caliber of Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale will ever accept or consider to play second fiddle to Murphy.

Bale’s pretty comfortable in supporting roles (it’s where he won his Oscar after all), and DiCaprio is playing second fiddle to both Jesse Plemons AND Robert De Niro pretty soon, so I wouldn’t put it past either of them. That said, neither of them would be my pick for Leslie Groves.

Who would be your pick for Leslie Groves? Please do tell. I can’t think of anyone for some reason.

    1. Cillian Murphy finally getting his deserved big leading role in an event film.

    2. “Trinity” (the code name of the test) would have been a much cooler title.

There were at least two 2 theatrical movies, one just after the war in 1947 and the other in like 1987, and another television film i think sometime in the 90s. And in each and every one of those projects, the actor who played Lowes was given top billing including the 1987 film where Paul Newman played Lowes and was given top billing and I can’t remember the name of the actor who played Oppenheimer because I had never heard of him. The role of Lowes is basically a co lead role akin to Damon and Bale in Ford v Ferrari. So they should and need to cast a big name actor in the role of Lowes.

Emily Blunt in talks to star in Oppenheimer

Emily Blunt In Talks To Join Christopher Nolan’s Next Film ‘Oppenheimer’ At Universal

I know Nolan’s movies aren’t acting vehicles, but it’s high time Blunt wins some major awards

I didn’t expect A Quiet Place reunion so soon.

“she will play the wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer”

I hope she won’t “simply” be playing “the wife of a great man;” Emily Blunt deserves better than that.

I feel like this has been most of Claire Roy’s film roles: First Man, Breathe (2017), The Electrical Life of Louis Wain

    Michelle Williams Oscar campaign manager.

So far, Nolan career is like James Cameron. Huge movies but not really Oscar type

Emily Blunt….please, let it happen. Let it be in best picture so that I’ll see the excuse people would make for AMPAS if they fail (never) to nominate her again

With Blunt potentially joining my interest skyrocketed…since it sounds baity perhaps this could be an awards breakthrough for Nolan as TCCoBB was for Fincher, and Blunt’s ticket à la Felicity Jones in TToE…fingers crossed she joins!

Swinton, Weerasethakul Memoria, (Best Actress, Director)
Efira, Rampling, Wilson Benedetta (Best Actress, Supporting Actress/Actor)
    Rapace Lamb (Best Actress)

I became scared when I realised it’ll be coming in July of 2023. I was expecting something around October and November. I was even thinking it’d be December 2022. Oh well, I believe it’d be critically and commercially adored enough to maintain momentum all through the season
