Iv e never missed a film by Ridley Scott.
In all of his resume there have only been 2 films which gained nominations.
Hopefully that changes.

Are you gonna bring this up every 5 months or something? Some of the set pics, Gaga’s own AHS resume, and other factors made this look like it was going to be a Glitter-ish mess. People make predictions and sometimes they are wrong. The Oscar nom speaks for itself. Weren’t even Gaga’s own fans skeptical too???

She wasn’t good at it in American Horror Story. With that being said, I’m excited for this. Ridley Scott is a fantastic detector, and Gaga was great in A Star is Born. Now that she’s proven her mettle in this field, I’d like to see her credited with her real name like they were originally planning to do for A Star is Born.

Surprisingly I think L Gaga is all ’round awesome. Her rise reminds me of the divine Bette Midler in The Rose.
She can only get better.

First of all you don’t judge the book by its cover. How is it fucking possible to make a reasonable predictions about a movie based on pictures? Pictures are static and acting is all about motion. Make it make sense.

Second, since when was her AHS performance bad? She won her first Golden Globe for it. So it did definitely please the critics/experts and that’s what carries weight, not the opinion of some golderby posters.

And yes I was skeptical myself as a fan. But to be skeptical is to be unsure and to rather wait and see. That’s different from predicting with certainly that “it would flop and end her career” out of spite for the artist, not based on any reasonable observations.

This sounds like a great choice for Gaga’s career as an actress. Still dealing with fame and glamour, but leaning into the darker side of her persona that she had in American Horror Story or her freakier music videos. I’m legitimately looking forward to this.

While it’s not without it’s fans, that win is disliked by many, as is her performance. It’s been perceived as a name check, and Kirsten Dunst is usually seen as the actress who should’ve won.
