I’m not worried. Even if you hate Scott, Ridley is a Better Director than Ron Howard. And his usual Editor Pietro Scalia is one of the Greatest Editors of All Time.

Pietro Scalia isn’t editing this, his All the Money in the World editor Claire Simpson is. But yeah lol this is not likely to be anything near Hillbilly Elegy. If absolutely nothing else the combination of Dariusz Wolski and the stunning locations they’ve been shooting in is going to be incredible.
They are likely only a couple weeks from wrapping. Pacino has wrapped. The actors playing characters that only appear towards the end of the timeline (Hayek, Carney, a lot of Jack Huston’s stuff) have been spotted on the set.

Oh. Thanks for the news. And yeah, at worst case scenario, it will have beautiful visuals like every Ridley Scott film ever.
April 5, 2021 at 5:10 pm #1204180737Omg. GAGA is overacting so much. It’s SOOO BADDDDD. Terrible. I thought it was a comedy.
You seem pressed, maybe that is what the script and character requires, and you only saw a minute and a half clip recorded by a paparazzi yet you are making assumptions of how her acting is.
April 5, 2021 at 9:50 pm #1204181044Is Adam Driver for sure going to be Lead? This movie does concern the events both before and after Maurizio Gucci’s death, so unless the film is nonlinear I don’t see how they would justify him going Lead if he’s dead halfway through the movie. Granted he does stand a better chance in Lead when weighed against his co-stars, but that’s also a role Pacino can fill (based on the synopses I’ve read).

Pacino is definitely not going to be Lead. He wrapped already, plus his character is not the focus of the story.
It depends on where in the film they place the assassination – the book actually opens with it, and then works backwards to the how and why, so they may take that approach. Either way I think he will probably be in most of it – Maurizio is the main character in the book and I don’t think anything post-conviction will be particularly interesting to the audience. So the only chunk he’d be absent from in that scenario is the arrest and trial.
April 5, 2021 at 11:46 pm #1204181149Sara Gay Forden-the author of the book the film is based on-said in a recent interview the film will be told from Patrizia’s POV. I don’t know if this has been brought up, but Gaga was also cast in David Leitch’s Bullet Train and shot her scenes before leaving for Italy. The cast is insane. Brad Pitt is the lead (I think) and other actors include Sandra Bullock, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, and Brian Tyree Henry.

Is this confirmed? I thought it was still a rumour – and I didn’t think Bullet Train had started filming when Gaga was first spotted in Italy.

Filming started last November, and they finished in March. Collider broke the news about Gaga’s casting and said it was a “small supporting role.” The other trades like THR and Deadline didn’t confirm the casting, but Variety reported her involvement alongside the other actors when they published an article about Bullock joining the cast.
