He doesn’t absolutely care about keeping a mythical aura around him like Daniel Day-Lewis and Jack Nicholson.

Maybe. Or maybe he’s just an actor who wants to act. There’s not enough jobs for actors in general, even less jobs at his age.

De Niro is almost 80. DDL is 62 or 63. I admire more Denzel because Denzel is always working but somehow Denzel is always great. DDL was awful in that musical. Even Antonio Banderas was better in the Broadway version

Omg, this. I think he just loves it and like you said, how many jobs are there? At the very least, his last films got like what 10 Oscar nominations? He’s still got it.

He takes every job. Bc last year during shutdown while fighting divorce settlement with ex wife. He said unless he made at least 15mil per year that he would go bankrupt. 🙄 it was in nypost I think.
