Maybe. It’s mostly for money since WBD is in huge debt and WBD really needs easy money
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 23, 2023 at 4:59 pm #1205315517Between the 3 earlier movies and the current Amazon Prime TV series, I just don’t know if there’s an audience for new LOTR movies. They are costly films to make and WBD may well find that what it thought would be easy money will in fact, contribute more to its already huge debt.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 23, 2023 at 5:15 pm #1205315522Personally, I’m starved for high end, highest brow scifi and fantasy, such as Ursula k Le guin’s Left Hand of Darkness, or Julian May’s Many Coloured Land/pleiocene exile, or Guy Gavriel Kay’s Fionovar Tapestryx3.
But that won’t happen in my lifetime and wouldn’t make any money. As long as they keep producing this genre, I’ll be content.
My guess is a Harry Potter Reboot would be the more expedient way to go.

I agree. I think New Harry Potter Movies are Way More Commercial especially if Radcliffe and Emma Watson are returning. Hobbit Trilogy and Amazon almost killed That Universe

Streaming Series make more money now like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. So, it’s possible you will see your favourite books as Streaming Series

They could “dumb them down”, making for unique action and epics. But in the wrong hands that would defeat the purpose.
