TAR deserved. Fantastic movie, one of few Hollywood movies nowadays that captures our current zeitgeist (Parasite and Whiplash are the other ones) and looks and feels like it knows the time we live in, but I was hoping for RRR, to keep their streak of curveball winners and give it a boost in the Best Picture race.

Edit: Parasite is not Hollywood, I know.

TAR is absolutely a top 5 contender in BP, and on some days even that feels conservative. It may not win, but there is passion behind this film, its cast, and Field that several other contenders don’t have.
