This film sounds interesting, not only with NK playing LB but Javier Bardem playing her husband Desi and Aaron Sorkin writing and directing.
Could be a major awards contender next yearJanuary 11, 2021 at 4:22 pm #1203977896
Hmm…January 11, 2021 at 4:42 pm #1203977969
Yikes what a switch from Blanchett to Kidman. I don’t think Kidman has demonstrated the comedic chops for Ball’s humor, but perhaps she’ll surprise.
It’s cute that they listened to me about casting Bardem though!January 11, 2021 at 4:55 pm #1203978006

It will certainly be interesting to see Nicole Kidman take on Lucille Ball, I can’t imagine her in the role right now.
NK has such a soft speaking voice while LB was known to be loud and boisterous all the time but I guess that’s what acting is for..January 11, 2021 at 5:35 pm #1203978096
I’m a huge Kidman fan but I just don’t see it. Like someone on twitter said she has been able to move face in a couple of decades . So can she be able to move face like Lucille. If they wanted to cast out of the box. I wouldn’t have minded Kate Winslet. She would be someone unexpected.January 11, 2021 at 6:00 pm #1203978134
Kidman’s Oscar comeback is accumulating hype started from now. Still it hurts not seeing Blanchett playing another legend as I expected before. She would probably nail it.January 11, 2021 at 6:10 pm #1203978149
Which begs the question whyJanuary 11, 2021 at 6:14 pm #1203978157
No, no, no! Blanchett was the best choice. Kidman? Sounds like a miscast. Bardem is too old for Desi. Sorkin directing doesn’t inspire confidence. The title change is awful and makes the project sound generic.January 11, 2021 at 6:18 pm #1203978163
After the Chicago 7 ending of “and then everybody clapped” I really wish he wouldn’t direct anything… also I actually think Scarjo would have been perfect for this kind of role, after 2019’s performances I realised how under-utilised she usually is.
BEST ACTRESS — CAREY MULLIGAN
BEST ACTOR — RIZ AHMEDJanuary 11, 2021 at 6:30 pm #1203978184
The role should’ve gone to Debra Messing.January 11, 2021 at 6:31 pm #1203978186
I’m a big Kidman fan as well but I think Cate Blanchett would of nailed this role and is better suited for LB.
Let’s hope Kidman can maintain a solid American accent throughout the film since she seems to have issues with it these days..Ironically she was better at doing the American accent when she first arrived in America but now struggles with it?January 11, 2021 at 6:45 pm #1203978208
Can she sign up for something that doesn’t require her to attempt an American Accent?January 11, 2021 at 6:52 pm #1203978215
Wtf is Cate doing. Can she move on from flop tv series already. Nicole meanwhile is experiencing a lot of success on that front, she should stick to that gig.

Nicole is the closest an actress will come to ever being as well respected as Meryl. She can literally do anything she wants and people will run to her lol (and I say this as a fan).
FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"January 11, 2021 at 6:56 pm #1203978224
The Twitter backlash has already begun from Debra Messing fans..
No offence to Messing, she’s probably a better fit for the role but at the end of the day more people around the world will watch the movie if Kidman is in it..
