Well that’s an unexpected choice and pairing. I was honestly expecting three of the “SNL” ladies to host the Globes. It made sense since it’s always on NBC and the guys got to host the Emmys terribly. Oh well. Best to Samberg & Oh!

I love the Oh and Samberg tandem. They were great as presenters together during the Emmys. I prefer them than Kevin Hart tbh.

Ellen hosting was the most watched ceremony since forever. How long do we have to wait for another lady? I’m so in disbelief at the fact that these people don’t even understand who watches the Oscars.

Ellen was so bland and BORING though… the selfie with all those stars was a cool moment, which didn’t even take place during the televised show itself, but the pizza shit fell flat and even towards the end it looked like she wanted to go home.

I would love to see Michelle Wolf host. Since Crazy Rich Asians could plausibly get shut out of the Oscar entirely, why not go for a real out-of-the-box choice like having Ali Wong host? Her specials Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Life on Netflix were hilarious, especially the former, check them out if you haven’t yet!

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

Does anyone think that the Kevin Hart backlash might force the Academy to reverse course on their host decision… again?

Kevin Hart has no business hosting the Oscars or even a dinner party. He is homophobic and no where near funny. Having no host at all would be better than having Kevin Hart.

So the Academy gave Kevin Hart an ultimatum: apologise for his old tweets or step down as Oscars host.

Kevin Hart said this in response: “I passed. The reason I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up…. Regardless, to the Academy, I’m thankful for the opportunity, if it goes away, no harm, no foul.”

    lol what a mess

The Academy might rescend Kevin Hart’s host invitation. Wow.

KEVIN HART SAYS THE FILM ACADEMY HAS GIVEN HIM AN ULTIMATUM: APOLOGIZE OR WE’LL FIND ANOTHER OSCARS HOST

It appears the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences may be looking for a new host for the upcoming Oscars ceremony very soon.

In a new Instagram video, Kevin Hart, who was tapped to emcee the ceremony earlier this week, says the Academy called him issuing an ultimatum if things were going to proceed as planned.

“I just got a call from the Academy and that call basically said, ‘Kevin, apologize for your tweets of old or we’re going to have to move on and find another host.’ I’m talking about the tweets from 2009 and 2010,” the 39-year-old comedian said. “I chose to pass on the apology. The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it. I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different place in my life.”

In a previous Instagram video, Hart addressed escalating concerns over a long history of hate speech and derogatory jokes about the LGBTQ community on social media, resurfaced in national news after he was named host of the Oscars on Thursday.

“Stop looking for reasons to be negative,” Hart wrote in the previous Instagram post. “Stop searching for reasons to be angry.”

Those sentiments did not go over well for many who read them as a non-apology.

“The same energy that went into finding those old tweets could be the same energy put into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years,” Hart said in his latest video. “We feed internet trolls and we reward them. I’m not going to do it, man. I’m going to be me. I’m going to stand my ground. Regardless, Academy, I’m thankful and appreciative of the opportunity. If it goes away, no harm, no foul.”

The Academy did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

We might as well restart brainstorming for another host, there’s no way the Academy will let this fly.

Wow… the Academy isn’t messing around! I’d love to see them experiment with no host now… they might end up bringing Billy Crystal for another go-around at this point, with a younger co-host….

Kevin Hart is no longer hosting:

    @KevinHart4real:

I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.

The academy needs to do a background check or go through people’s tweets before hiring a host. Just get Billy Crystal or Steve Martin every year.
