Best Supporting Actress : Should have lost to Laurie Metcalf
Original Screenplay : Should have lost to Lady Bird
Cinematography: Blade Runner deserved it
Editing : Should have lost to I, Tonya
Sound Editing : Dunkirk deserved it
Sound Mixing : Dunkirk deserved it
TSOW also deserved a VFX nom.

Director: Pual Thomas Anderson is my winner.
Actress: Rightfully lost. I would have picked Margot.
Supporting Actress: Just like Sally, Octavia was the worst nominee.
Supporting Actor: Jenkins was also the worst in the category.
Best Original Score: Deserved to win
Costume Design: Phantom Thread got what it deserved.
Prodction Design: Deserved.
Original Screenplay: Should have lost against Lady Bird.
Cinematography: Should have won.
Editing: I, Tonya.

ReplyCopy URLApril 19, 2020 at 3:18 pm #1203435824As much as I really liked the film and love seeing that a film like it could actually win, I still preferred THREE BILLBOARDS and LADYBIRD first.
I do think Guillermo del Toro deserved Director so he can have that win.
It also deserved its wins for Production Design and Score…and I would’ve thrown in a win for its Cinematography.
I think Michael Shannon deserved a nomination despite the fact it was a pretty one note character. He’s just such a compelling actor to me.
Hawkins not having an Oscar for this performance is a shame but I do support McDormand’s wins
