    The annual end-of-winter convention
    takes place this year in Anaheim, CA, and movie + TV panels are
    scheduled for the city’s Convention Center. All times are Pacific
    Standard, in case you want to go, and more info can be had at
    http://www.comic-con.org/wc/ . The Moscone Center South in San
    Francisco is undergoing renovations which is what precipitated the
    move to Anaheim. All events are in the Third Level Ballroom.

    Friday, March 16
    3:45-5: 21 Jump Street panel/Q&A
    with actors Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill

    Saturday, March 17
    12:30-1:15 Fox Searchlight: The Sound
    of My Voice panel/Q&A with actress, producer, and co-writer Brit
    Marling (Another Earth) and director/co-writer Zal Batmanglij. It’s
    about a couple and documentary filmmaking team who infiltrate a
    mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie. Intent
    on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her
    grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each
    other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.

    1:15-2:15 20th Century Fox
    summer movie preview; films and panelists TBA

    2:30-3:15 Open Road Films: Lockout
    world premiere footage (panelists TBA): Set in the near future,
    Lockout follows a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Guy Pearce),
    whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission
    of rescuing the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from rioting
    convicts at an outer space maximum security prison.

    3:15-4:15 Universal Pictures:
    Battleship/Snow White and the Huntsman panels/Q&A: The former
    includes director/producer Peter Berg and actors Alexander Skarsgård
    and Brooklyn Decker. The latter’s panel will be hosted by Snow White
    and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

    4:15-5:30 Sony: Resident Evil:
    Retribution, Looper, Amazing Spider-Man

    Resident Evil: Retribution panel:
    Actress Milla Jovovich and writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson. The
    story is about learning more of Alice’s mysterious past as she
    continues to hunt those at The Umbrella Corporation responsible for
    the T-virus outbreak, a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York,
    Washington, DC, and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation
    that will force her to rethink everything she once thought to be
    true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight
    to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of

    Looper world premiere footage with
    actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and writer-director Rian Johnson. In the
    film, time travel will be invented, but it will be illegal and only
    available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of
    someone, they send their target 30 years into the past, where a
    “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Gordon-Levitt) – is
    waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good, until the
    day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s
    future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

    The Amazing Spider-Man panel with
    director Marc Webb and actress Emma Stone with 8 minutes of footage that was previously screened at the movie’s global publicity event a couple months back.
