It appears Halle Berry will actually be the star missing in action on the Academy Awards famed red carpet. So, what gives? The Oscar-winning actress, who was supposed to present at tonight’s 84th annual Academy Awards ceremony with Tom Hanks, canceled her appearance due to her pesky broken foot, Academy Awards producer Brian Grazer told E! News Sunday.

Owen WilsonFebruary 26, 2012 at 1:48 pm #56059The custom here in LA has been for the local ABC outlet to follow the time between the awards until the 11 pm newscast with a combination of the Barbara Walters special (until last year) and post-ceremony coverage, including from the Governors’ Ball and other parties. Last year they did extensive coverage from the GB.
Tonight the TV listing says they are putting on a repeat of the Red Carpet show,
I wonder if the Academy, to cut down on the clutter and the distraction, decided to ban TV cameras from the Ball?
Not sure if other PT cities ever picked up this coverage, but it was a mildly interesting diversion afterwards.

I’m dying to know who’ll present BP and Director. Of those, I can list frankly these big name stars who might present those categories-Morgan Freeman
Michael Douglas
Tom Cruise
Meryl StreepTom Hanks (he just presented BP two years ago, don’t think he’ll be back)

Angelina Jolie (she’s doing Screenplay)February 26, 2012 at 2:13 pm #56063I always think it’s a mistake to not lead off with either supporting actress and actor. Leading off with 5 craft categories that the casual viewer doesn’t care about usually takes the air out of the show. Maybe if they led off with Dame Leo’s crazy speech with Kirk Douglas the viewer would have forgotten the Hathaway/Franco atrocity.

February 26, 2012 at 4:45 pm #56066Sorry if this has been discussed in another thread but doesn’t anyone know where I can stream the Oscars live online? I have tried looking up locations but none of them seem to be working. Any suggestions would be helpful?
