Variety is reporting that Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Oscars! Thoughts?December 5, 2016 at 9:28 am #1201962144
Too bad he’ll be presiding over the least-seen Oscars ever.December 5, 2016 at 9:31 am #1201962145
Eurgh, what a boring choice. We waited Christ knows how long for…….this?
Wonder how many Trump gags will be made by him at *this* ceremony? Yawn. Yawn. Yawn.
Thank god the sweet relief of seeing a La La Land sweep will make this Oscars great!December 5, 2016 at 9:56 am #1201962157
Ugh. Such a shame because I used to really like him but he has become an unoriginal pony these last few years and he is generally weak when hosting anything other than his talk shows.

I thought he was pretty excellent at this years Emmys but I hate it when the same person hosts multiple award shows close together, especially within the same year.December 5, 2016 at 10:37 am #1201962204
Tina and Amy – boring
Kevin Spacey – boring and smug
Hugh Jackman – boring and gay
No one here could name someone who would not be boring or smug or gay on some level.December 5, 2016 at 11:13 am #1201962237
MEH.December 5, 2016 at 11:41 am #1201962279
I guess this is what they’re doing now. Getting late night talent to pull double duty, b/c why not. CBS is on the verge of overkill with James Corden. It’s their year for the Emmys, so unless they get someone else to host the Tonys, he’ll be hosting three award shows next year. As for Jimmy Kimmel, I was impressed by his recent Emmy turn, so I am good with this. Would’ve been better to get another POC to host, but that’s not my business.December 5, 2016 at 2:14 pm #1201962432
Yes!! I love this choice!! Jimmy Kimmel has been on my list of dream people who’ve never hosted the Oscars before, so I’m so glad he finally has his chance!December 5, 2016 at 2:24 pm #1201962450
Maybe this time, Jimmy’s mom will bake treats for the audience instead of making bag lunches. YAWNNNNNN!December 5, 2016 at 6:55 pm #1201962614
so are we gonna expect matt damon sketch?December 5, 2016 at 6:58 pm #1201962616
As I posted in the article, what took them so long? We all know ABC’s vetoing other late-night comics besides Kimmel is why Jay Leno never hosted the Oscars *and* why they can’t bring in Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, James Corden, Conan O’Brien, Trevor Noah, etc. today. It may have even been the REAL reason why David Letterman never came back; his first gig wasn’t nearly as disastrous as he claimed it was over the years…
