The trailer alone reminds me of a Nickelodeon Original Movie™. I’ll be very surprised if it gets higher than a 60 on Metacritic.June 28, 2017 at 6:00 pm #1202135939
American Horror story freak show the movie.June 28, 2017 at 7:57 pm #1202135989
I definitely see both sides of this. However, I think it does have the potential to be good. I am just unsure if it is Oscar material. But the combination of Logan & this movie may allow Jackman to snag a nomination if the reviews are decent.June 28, 2017 at 8:51 pm #1202136058
I think this looks great! On paper I wasn’t so sold on the premise. But the trailer is wonderful. I can totally see this being a big hit at Christmas time. The only problem I have with the trailer is the corny song playing throughout.June 29, 2017 at 7:54 am #1202136620
This looks fun!June 29, 2017 at 8:17 am #1202136658
Looks very glossy at first glance. I’m iffy on the song playing that sounds super trite. Might be going for a family-friendly Christmas audience versus Oscars push, but December is prime time, after all. We could get a PG edit for this, and I wasn’t expecting that at all. Hugh Jackman looks lively and dynamic here The scariest part of this is Michelle Williams smiling so much lol. I’m not used to seeing thatttt. Total supporting wife mode. Hoping for the best regardless!October 13, 2017 at 5:37 pm #1202236666
I do not care what anyone says. This looks great. It may just be what the Oscar doctor ordered. After all these Oscar calibre films that are dark and heavy, a light-hearted musical may be just what we need, if it’s good that is, but I have a feeling it will be!
I am excited for it at the very least.

No reactions to the movie yet?
I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it, but it seems to be split by reviewers.December 26, 2017 at 2:11 pm #1202449195
There was an amazing movie in here, but poor writing and directing really brought it down. So many cheesey (and I can like cheesey at times) moments. The Hugh Jackman family plot was a bore. I hated Michelle Williams in this. She was so bland. She better redeem herself In All the Money in the World. Keala Settle was the MVP for me and is a fantastic singer who deserved more material. The circus musical numbers were when the movies was best, and there wasn’t enough. I hated how the movie sugarcoated serious issues. I am also surprised people have brought up the fact that the movie seems to say that outsiders and black people have a chance if a straight white man helps them. Obviously that isn’t the movies intent, but it seems like something people would bring up. Efron, Zendaya, and Jackman were good. The visuals were good in the circus musical numbers, but at times are so basic that my eyes rolled out of my head.
