Hoping for the very best for Donald Sutherland. Slay it Donald! His storyline should be very very good.June 9, 2015 at 12:40 pm #188193
I am really mixed with the series now. Mockingjay – Part 1 changed things up and wasn’t as exciting or fun as the previous two installments. While it’s still a good movie, it’s not great like The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I am still excited to see this movie, but only as a rental, unless the reviews are glowing.

Mockingjay Part 1 had the same effect for me that Harry Potter 7.1 had where they were breather films with more character study and set up for a grand finale so as much as Mockingjay wasn’t as exciting as the past 2 films, it was understandable. I have a feeling that this one with be exciting as hell and hopefully Tucci and Banks have more to do in this one.June 9, 2015 at 1:15 pm #188195
I think the first two episodes were Oscar-worthy and perfection. The third episode is very average. I’m looking forward to the last, though! They better nail it!June 9, 2015 at 3:30 pm #188196
Since we’re sharing our thoughts about these films, er, for what it’s worth, what I liked most about the first one was Woody Harrelson. And Amandla Stenberg, who is adorable.
The second one I liked the clothes Lawrence was wearing. Plus, Woody Harrelson.
The third one I didnt pay extremely close attention to, especially during those ‘dark’ tunnel scenes. I suppose it’s unfair to expect Jo Willems to be like Roger Deakins. I liked Lawrence in this one, and of course, Woody Harrelson.
I have mixed feelings about Elizabeth Banks’es “Effie”, but she does have more than one side to her, and she’s beginning to grow on me.
Props to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci, and Toby Jones as well.
Favorite actor in these films? Donald Sutherland.
There’s something about these films that compels me to see them, and usually right away. It could be the genre as well. I like supporting it. They arent 2001 A Space Odyssey but, so what.June 9, 2015 at 4:12 pm #188197
I enjoyed Mockingjay Part 1 more than I thought. Slower it’s good. Same happened to me with Deathly Hallows Part 1 (my second favorite HP just after Prisoner of Azkaban).
I had way more issues with Catching Fire. It’s like The Hunger Games but with more budget and something was off; is like the Capitol version of the first one. Shinier but empty inside.
The new trailer is good but should build much more excitement!June 9, 2015 at 4:18 pm #188198
Yeah I think Tucci and Banks are my favorites outside of Lawrence of couse with Sutherland and Hoffman close behind. Is Julianne Moore in this one too? No spoilers but I haven’t read the books.June 9, 2015 at 7:19 pm #188199
Kyle, yes, Julianne Moore is in this next one and should play a fairly large role and have a great moment in it.June 9, 2015 at 9:13 pm #188200
Awesome! She was great in the last one!June 10, 2015 at 3:11 am #188201
Like what people like in Donald Sutherland? He’s playing the same character as always. He’s good, but he’s nowhere near the level of Lawrence, Banks or Harrelson in this series.June 10, 2015 at 7:03 am #188202
Sutherland is just deliciously sinister. You really love to hate him. His icy delivery truly is remarkableJune 10, 2015 at 8:04 am #188203

Vince, if Donald was in his twenties, you would probably not be asking this. Dont give me the VanessaRedgraveJaneFondaetcarentthatgood stuff again. Lol!June 10, 2015 at 8:33 am #188204
Loved the first two so I cant wait!June 10, 2015 at 9:09 am #188205

This is a bit unfair, though. I didn’t say anything negative on Jane Fonda. Only the truth. She didn’t do anything worthy for decades. Also, Vanessa Redgrave is not my favorite, I think it’s also acceptable if some of the users are actual Meryl Streep haters. And I don’t have any problem with Donald Sutherland, he’s just really “average” in The Hunger Games Series, that’s all. I have no problem with older people. But I won’t acknowledge them just because they are old, that’s all. They need to impress me as well.
