This has no chance of winning sag

I feel it has a chance, at least a high chance of nomination given that I can see DiCaprio, Pitt, and Robbie all nominated.

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

After watching it for 3 times in theatres,I have come to an conclusion that this maybe worst edited QT film ever.I mean just look at Brad driving scenes, they are so long for crying out loud.Margot visiting theatre scenes that are also so long and serves no purpose to plot of the movie.I also think some of Leo’s flashback acting could have been cut but I guess Tarantino wanted some depth for his main character.Brad and his dog scene in beginning serves a purpose but could have been shorter atleast 2 mins.Brad’s ranch scene could have been shorter. This movie is 20-25 too long and it feels it and to me just after 3 watches. It definitely have some amazing moments and it is too long for it’s own bad.I agree it’s QT’s most personal film but it could have been way better as movie and money earner if it was edited well.I guess,I am not sure but Cannes cut was shorter 10min.

But those are some of the best sequences in the film! And they do contribute, because it is contextualizing two of the three leads in a film about cinema being able to resurrect that which has been lost…

This movie could have been shorter and be more effective
    Rick’s Lancer episode
Cliff’s initial dog scene and long car scenes
    Margot visiting theatre scenes
    Cliff’s visit to Ranch scene
I am not saying to cut but editing them shorter would have had a more positive effect on overall film experience.Editing could have been certainly better.

Interesting how you argue Rick is the clear lead but in that it appears Cliff clearly had the most important scenes to the plot.

I fully disagree; I think the editing is one of the few aspects that works in the film, and that the film should be a bit longer to accommodate the three story lines.

Look, for me personally it’s fine.I love works about Hollywood and character driven works e.g BCS but majority of viewers are speaking against it’s run time.

Is it bad that I want both Leo and Brad to win Oscars for this? This was so good. Also, a win here would be Brad’s first for acting, right?

After watching the Bruce lee scene, I can see why his daughter was upset. That was a mess. Bruce Lee is my all-time favorite star ever so I may be a bit biased, but that was a VERY disappointing scene.

All I know it that the movie breezed by for me, it felt like I was only in the theater an hour. So for me the editing is just fine

I liked every other Tarantino movie and loved most of them but Christ I hated this movie. I can see that this is an unpopular opinion based on the rest of this thread so I won’t go that much into it. I will say three things:

    1. Brad Pitt is supporting my ass. He was more of a driving force of the movie than leo’s characters. His scenes were necessary where most of leo’s werent. And he had pretty muchc equal screentime.

    2. I understand that the purpose of Margot Robbie’s scenes in the movie was to subvert expectations in Sharon Tate not being involved in yhe climax. But I dont think it justified her inclusion in the movie. I dont think that its an earned twist if the twist is that the third main character is not involved in the movies climax. The movie wouldnt have worked without her to be fair, but the movie didnt work for me in general.

    3. It was fun seeing Jill Garvey, Sydney Sweeney, Max from Better Things, Robin from Stranger Things, Victoria Pedretti, and Oleg from the Americans. Genuinely great to see small part TV actors in such a big movie. Hopefully opens doors for their careers

The ranch scene was perfect the way it is.

My only issue with the ending is that it could have been even crazier. Why stop at only 3 Manson family members ? I could have watched 10 of these fuckers getting slaughtered and laughed my ass off

This has no chance of winning sag

I’m not even sure it’ll get nominated (hoping it will). We all know that even a big prestigious cast doesn’t guarantee a nom. Inglorious Basterds won but movies like Django Unchained, Wolf of Wall Street, The Post or The Shape of Water weren’t even nominated. SAG is shady as hell so I’m not expecting anything

This said, if Leo, Brad and perhaps even Margot all snag an individual nom, the movie should get in ensemble as well so let’s hope
