I did have a question about the possibility of SAG .. With Leo and brad both getting top billing doesn’t that then invalidate them from being nominated ???

You can consider Brad a co-lead but I guess they will contest Brad as supporting role most likely to not split votes and lets be honest Brad have better chance of winning at Supporting,I dont even see Brad getting nominated for Lead and also movie revolves around Rick’s character so.I can see it same thing like what with Viggo and Ali for Green Book

Now that racism, nazism and toxic hippie culture have been solved, what should he solve next? I vote for homophobia.

I honestly think Pitt is more of a lead than Leo…his scene at the manson ranch was a lot more memorable than Leo’s on set and also was more related to the film’s conclusion. It will definitely be some of the worst category fraud in recent years, to me worse than that of Green Book and The Favourite, but seeing as it’s probable that Pitt will win in supporting, it is what it is.

No for me Pitt was the Supporting totally … Rick was the lead for me 100%

Anyone remember how Jennifer Lawrence was in talks to be in the film, but not for the Tate character? I wonder what role it would’ve been. The next biggest female role is Qualley’s but even though Lawrence is only four years older, Qualley looks like a teenager and Lawrence has been playing 30 somethings since she was like 21. So I guess my next best guess would be the Fanning role, but that seems t0o small…even with the movie being filled with A-listers in glorified cameos Lawrence was the biggest and busiest star in Hollywood two years ago, so I can’t imagine agents really thought that was a possibility.

I can understand very well what you say but dude I think if the film was edited better we would have gotten to know easily that whether Pitt is lead or supporting.Thing is movie’s central plot is Rick Dalton and how the movie ends with his character, which you will agree.Manson Family were just a side plot of this movie to relate Sharon and bring a loud ending.I think QT wanted to discuss hippie culture through Mansons and that is why he included them.A bit of better writing and editing would have given more clarity of Pitt’s billing status, this really is movie where QT’s directing overshadowed his writing.Going by general whom around movie revolves and screen time,it is Leo who is lead and Pitt supporting.Going on plot involvement and importance,we can argue Pitt is a co-lead.

I haven’t watched the film yet, but Qualley’s role as Pitt’s love interest sounds about right despite the age, but she could’ve also been set to play Fanning’s or Susan Atkins and the role just got heavily diminished due to her falling through. Atkins was a heavy assumption at the time of casting, so I guess it would make sense if he just wanted her to play it and turned it into a cameo role after she declined.

    BEST. MOVIE. OF. THE. YEAR.

    A MASTERPIECE.

God I love Tarantino. As an expert in cinema, I must say it’s the best movie of the year. It’s close to Bohemian Rhapsody’s quality.

It’s winning EVERYTHING at the Oscars.

I loved the acting (Pitt was so cool and Robbie was so hot!) and Tarantino is really the best director of the year. Eat it, haters.

I love being a literate person.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

I… didn’t like it. The pacing was all off, the screenplay was weak, and there was only one really fleshed out character. I don’t expect any major Oscar noms. Maybe for Leo.

The film is a mixed bag but overall it’s VERY good.

The performances are exceptional. Leo & Brad deserve recognition. Margot is sweet as Sharon Tate.

But the real stand out is Julia Butters! Her scenes with DiCaprio are fantastic.

There are also some hilarious moments in this movie. The Globes should definitely nominate this in Best Picture – Comedy or Musical.

It’s confirmed,Leo is main lead of OUTIH and that he’ll campaign as solo with Brad as supporting.I think this settles the debate.

Finally had the chance to see this yesterday, I wanted to love it but I only liked it. I loved the performances from all involved, the technical aspects like the costumes & production design were top notch; but overall the movie felt 30 minutes too long, and after the greatness that was the penultimate scene, I felt the movie ended rather sluggishly. I consider DiCaprio & Pitt leads but if Pitt can win in supporting, I can live with it. Margot Robbie was great as Sharon Tate, but as stated by others I don’t feel like she has enough material to warrant a win, let alone a nomination. I predict that the film will be embraced wholeheartedly come awards season, but i’m not sure if it can win best picture.
