The ending is undoubtedly the best part about this film. So heartbreaking. Sharon Tate did not deserve to die like that and Tarantino did her amazing justice by ridiculing her “murderers” in such a great and fun way. Felt so clever and right.

Ending was one of the only good things about this film.

Darlings, that ending was terrible. Tarandisgustino really thought he was clever. I have to laugh. It is disgusting and offensive to make fun and fiction about murders. This atrocious movie deserves to sweep… but at the Razzies. Margot Robbie was its only good thing.

As a famous singer said, "ain't nobody gonna Thatcher, Thatcher, Thatcher!"

Shameless plug: Here’s the interview I did with QT as he was doing his Academy campaign tour for ONCE UPON A TIME… last month. Enjoy! (You can skip the intro; he and I start talking at 2:40)

His film is really up-in-the-air prediction wise. Pitt seems 100% secure but I can totally see his film winning

    Director
    Original Screenplay
    Production Design

But I can easily see all those categories going elsewhere (with 1917 and/or PARASITE being its top competition in all those categories). Time may tell how things lean but I don’t think there will be any assurance about any until the final envelope is opened.

I loved this movie. I watched it two weeks ago and still find myself randomly thinking about it. I think it’s my favorite movie by Tarantino.

I think that it really showed Quentin’s genius because I was literally going ‘I’m not sure about what happened (or rather didn’t) with Sharon’ as the film ended because, I mean… really? We’re talking about one of the most famous murders in Hollywood history BUT THEN… the title popped up: Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and boom!, I was completely sold.

It was just genius. I went from feeling iffy about the ending, all of the set-up–Rick living next-door, his washed up status, his movie status in Italy, Cliff’s skills, the flame thrower, the acid cigarettes, the Margaret Qualley character, etc.– all of it led to that end, and then to that title card. It was, yeah, genius and Tarantino created a masterpiece, in my opinion.

Putting that title card there, right there at the end, that was it… that MADE the film. It was a fairytale, it was what we would have loved to happen to the beautiful princess of Hollywood where Rick the cowboy was the hero who saved the day with his loyal sidekick doing his part as always.

Once upon a time indeed. Damn, that was good shit.

If OUATIH wins screenplay, director and film, I personally will have zero problems with it. I watched this film the same day I watched Joker and rewatched Marriage Story. I only really remember the Driver parts of MS (because I love him so). Joker, I barely remember at all; there’s nothing unique or special about it. It’s about a loser with mental issues who becomes a psychotic killer, been there, done that so many times before in a movie. The only “twist” is that this time he’s a comic book character. OK. But OUATIH, that one has stuck in my brain.
