Gosling sure has that emotionless face down pat.April 4, 2013 at 3:58 am #98152
I love this trailer. I was a HUGE fan of ‘Drive’, so I’ve been interested in this project from the moment I heard that Refn and Gosling were teaming up again. Kristin Scott Thomas has a very interesting role here, and I can’t wait to see her performance. Speaking solely on the trailer, I love the way it’s cut, and the music used is an awesome juxtaposition to the action taking place on screen. And the cinematography is gorgeous. I’m very much looking forward to watching this one.April 4, 2013 at 11:32 am #98153
It looks good. I personally think that it will do really well but out of his movies coming out this year the one I really want to see is the place beyond the pines.April 5, 2013 at 12:02 am #98154
I haven’t even watched the film yet, but I think it’s safe to say the cinematography for this is amazing. I saw some of the most gorgeous shots for an action films of the past few years in this trailer. This will probably be Larry Smith’s best work since “Eyes Wide Shut”.April 5, 2013 at 8:36 am #98155
^Agreed. It looks stunning.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantApril 6, 2013 at 4:52 pm #98156
I wonder why on earth Nicolas Winding Refn did not bring back his cinematographer from Drive.April 6, 2013 at 4:55 pm #98157
^Hum, because Larry Smith is fucking awesome?
Also, they had worked together before on “Bronson” (a film I like more than “Drive”, but both are great).April 18, 2013 at 10:38 pm #98159
Looking forward to this one.April 28, 2013 at 4:22 pm #98160
Here’s a “first” 6 minutes look at Only God Forgives.
I’m rooting for Kristin Scott Thomas and Vithaya Pansringarm in Supporting Categories.April 29, 2013 at 6:34 pm #98161
This looks STUNNING. The direction, the cinematography, art direction, and performances all look to be amazing. This is definitely one of my most anticipated films of the year.April 30, 2013 at 1:51 pm #98162
I’m gonna say something controversial — all Ryan Gosling movies are starting to look the same. Or at least the character Gosling plays. He looks dark, broody, intense. I only say this because I KNOW he’s capable of more. His characterizations just seem to be somewhat similar, that’s all I’m saying.
Kristin Scott Thomas, however, looks PHENOMENAL in this. I’m excited to see it for her.April 30, 2013 at 4:05 pm #98163
^Not very controversial.. People started saying it after ‘Drive’ and when ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’ came out. However, I think he made his ‘Pines’ character Luke different than Driver from ‘Drive’. But his character of Julian in ‘Only God Forgives’ looks quite similar, on the surface. Guess we’ll see.July 19, 2013 at 11:18 pm #98164
This was a strange/weird movie. I did like Gosling’s performance even he didn’t say much. KST and Vithaya Pansringarm were pretty good. I really did like Ratha Phongam as Mai and add to the fact that shes absolutely beautiful. Like i said though, this was a very strange film and i don’t know if i hated or liked it. I just want Gosling in the oscar circuit again and this film isn’t it.
