What will be their Oscar clip? I hope they’re going to show the best scene of each and every acting nominees. I was disappointed last year for Glenn Close, Amy Adams, Viggo, Yalitcia and Bradley.

Pretty sure they’ll show Dern’s monologue and might even go for Scarlett’s monologue in MS.
Pugh’s economic proposition is a great scene as well and short enough to be her clip.
Idk about Margot’s, Charlie’s or Reene’s clips, didn’t watch Richard Jewel or Harriet.

For Kathy Bates it’s either the press conference or the bathroom scene.
For Anthony Hopkins it’s the “I pray to God” scene and for Pryce any scenes will do. He’s good in every scenes.
For Banderas his confrontation with Alberto or any of his scenes with his old mother.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 6, 2020 at 12:31 am #1203332342Joaquin will probably be the “all I have are bad thoughts” scene, since it’s suitable to play on that TV timeslot and demonstrates that movie’s themes.
Adam… please don’t be the BEING ALIVE melodramatic bullshit. Maybe one of those desperate scenes of him talking with his kid – the car one or the invisible man one. Knife scene was genuinely great, but maybe a little too violent for that show?
Despite him not being visually on screen, I think the monologue about pain and injuries early in Antonio Banderas’ performance with the stylised backgrounds is one of the most moving moments in that performance. Failing that, the scene where he is with his actor associate having the talk on the phone and escalating the argument would be a good showcase – it’s a tight scene.
Dicaprio is definitely going to be the conversation about the sad cowboy book. That’s the big pathos moment of that movie’s fictional characters.
Genuinely no idea for the pope – that movie had no real resonant acting moments for me or ones I knew others singled out. Waste of a nomination.

No idea on DiCaprio since he was bad the whole movie. Maybe one of the 30 times hes complaining to Pitt
Pacino screaming on the phone or the flag
Pesci the bowling scene talking about frank’s daughter
Johansson in supportung when she’s convincing Jojo at the dinner
Erivo has 2 or 3 monologues, when shes screaming at leslie odom jr and some other guys might be enough for the telecast.

Actor:
Antonio Banderas – Saying goodbye to his ex (it’s hard to pinpoint an exact moment for him because his work is so consistent may subtle, but they could get something good out of this sequence, as it’s highly emotional, even without the context)Leonardo DiCaprio – “I burnt her ass to a crisp”
Adam Driver – “Everyday I wake up and I hope you’re dead” (most of his best moments are real slow burns that wouldn’t translate well as short clips)
Joaquin Phoenix – “For my whole life, I didn’t know if I ever really existed. But I do” (I appreciated SAG going for the dance scene, but it doesn’t work in the clip format)
Jonathon Pryce – Being forgiven for his sins (he’s not talking, but his facial acting is impeccable there)
Actress:
Erivo – Haven’t seem her so I don’t know. I guess something better than what they played at SAG, cause that didn’t impress me at allScarlett Johansson – “I had never come alive for myself, I was just feeding his aliveness”
Saoirse Ronan – “Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts”
Charlize Theron – “Do you think women are idiots?”
Renée Zellweger – “Promise you won’t forget me”
Supporting Actor:
Tom Hanks – “Just take a minute”Anthony Hopkins – “Silence!”
Al Pacino – “I know things, they don’t know I know”
Joe Pesci – “He’s going”
Brad Pitt – “Nah, it was dumber than that. It was something like…Rex” (his best moment is that huge smack down, but they’ll never be allowed to show that, so I’ll settle for the hilarious moment right before it)
Supporting Actress
Kathie Bates – Didn’t see her performance, so I don’t knowLaura Dern – Mary monologue
Scarlett Johansson – Talking with Thomasin in the attic
Florence Pugh – “ Don’t sit there and tell me marriage isn’t an economic proposition, because it is”
Margot Robbie – Crying while one the phone with Kate McKinnon (I thought the harassment scene was definitely her best moment, but it’s too slow moving and will make the audience too uncomfortable)

Just a simple clip will do it. Not that she isn’t great in singing clips, but it’s just weird.
It would at least be better than Malek’s clip consisting of nothing but lip syncing.

I agree, like in Rami Malek’s clip last year where he is playing the piano singing some lines of Bohemian Rhapsody even though Malek is not doing the singing voice.

When I first read that Renee was not lip syncing, I was disappointed, because no one can sing like Judy. But, then I saw the movie “Judy”, and I knew she was winning an Oscar. I felt nothing weird.. I felt Judy Garland. Just a few hours away…
