Some that I saw going around

-Penelope Cruz is the first Best Actress nominee since Laura Linney to be nominated without any of the main precursors.
-First time in 40 years without a newcomer in Best Actor.
-The Power of the Dog is the first film to get four acting noms without a SAG Ensemble nomination since the category was created.
-House of Gucci is the first film since The Butler to have three noms at SAG (including Ensemble) to be completely ignored in all acting categories.

Denzel Washington extends his record of being the most nominated Black Actor in Oscar history

He’s also only one nomination away from matching Oliver’s 10 (and he’s probably gonna get it). Then it’s just Jack Nicholson with 12.

We may have lost the 40-year newcomer streak in Best Actor

but thanks to Ryusuke Hamaguchi, the 70-year newcomer streak in Best Director is still going strong!
