Hey, I was just dishing out what you were serving.

And I also said “Technically the same role,” because I knew your response would help make my case for me. Thank you for that.

Define the obligation of a role. As I see it, Blanchett was obligated to play a woman before an emotional breakdown and a woman years after an emotional breakdown. Using your second definition, the role is different.

Blanchett is having a meltdown during the whole film, not just in the end. Did you even watch it? And a character showing an evolution is not the same as a character with multiple personalities disorder where the actress is obligated to show an explicit distinction from scene to scene, unlike Cate who was facing the same situation the whole time.

No, she is not having a meltdown prior to discovering her husband’s affairs. She is very anxious by nature, but she is not having a meltdown. The same situation the whole time? You realize there are flashbacks in Blue Jasmine, right? She was obligated to show a distinction between the flashbacks and the present scenes. If you don’t understand that, I can’t really help you further.

Ohhh you had forgotten about the flashbacks this whole time. Everything’s making more sense now.

I didnt. I find them irrelevant because its still the same character, and like more than one member pointed out your post was terribly stupid and you are a troll.
