I had the chance to watch The Shape of Water and it was beautiful, but I don’t think it’s winning Best Picture. Directing and Actress would be very well deserved nominations, while I wasn’t impressed by Spencer and Jenkins (it might be just me).

Am I crazy to think that Shannon is more likely than Jenkins? At least at the Oscars?

Woody Harrelson is seriously being underestimated. Feels like a SAG nom waiting to happen.

CMBYN feels like the most likely to have 2 Supporting Actor kids but if they love Three Billboards, it’s not out of the question for Harrelson to pull a surprise nod.

I would agree Shannon’s odds are probably a tad stronger than Jenkins’ and Harrelson is being completely underestimated.

Due to the Oscar rule, Sally Hawkins is forced to pick between two roles, “The Shape of Water” and “Maudie”. Opinions?

I’d like to hear other opinions, but both Shannon and Jenkins didn’t do anything spectacular to earn a nomination. I’m not saying it’s not happening, but at least for me, it wouldn’t be deserving. I guess I’ll re-watch it when I have the chance.

My personal lineup for supporting actor as of now Patrick Stewart, Michael Stuhlbarg, Garrettt Hedlund, Jason Mitchell, and Sam Rockwell. I’d Hedlund goes lead then I’ll replace him with Wilhem Dafoe or Harrison Ford

The Shape of Water, since I haven’t seen Maudie. By the way, does this rule apply on supporting categories? Stuhlbarg is in Call Me By Your Name, The Shape of Water and The Post.
