    Official poster for The King

    King Arthur vibes, this will flop immensely.

    Lol the buzz from people who’ve seen the movie is that she’s the MVP. But go off.

    Just checked the odds here and they’re honestly laughable.

    Downtown Abbey could have a bug push for Maggie Smith if the pre-sales hold up. Its currently tracking higher than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

    If you were to look back on past years during August the predictions are always off – it takes awhile for things to become clear and I don’t really pay attention to the odds until November. That’s always the month when things become clearer and even then we always have to watch out for one or two films that open late (in January, with limited releases in L.A. and NYC only to qualify) that sneak in and wreck our predictions! (;

    Aint nobody was citing this “buzz” otherwise they would have already have been predicting her and wouldnt need the trailer were she doesnt talk to change their predictions.

    How will the response to Netflix in the Academy go for 2020? One of the reasons Green Book won was anti-Netflix sentiment in Oscars, but anti-trust concerns are involved[1] so formal rule changes are unlikely.

    Will Marriage Story or The Laundromat or even The Irishman be compromised by Netflix? What films will benefit from this backlash?

    Well, there is a bias against Netflix, yes, but it seems to be lessening every year. First they got documentaries, then acting, then picture, director and more as the years passed. That being said, Netflix should definitely only back 1 or 2 major players this year, probably Irishman and Marriage Story. Meryl has the starpower to land a nom for Laundromat no matter whether they campaign or not. (The Timmy Stans might say that for The King too but I doubt it.)

    I’ve not really followed anything this year but I’m surprised to see that ScarJo/Adam Driver netflix movie predicted in multiple categories?
