Boseman fuckign died and was loved by everyone. he gave a phenomenal performance and this was his last chance to ever receive recognition from the academy. he was iconic and inspired a generation.

And they gave it to an 80 year old white guy who didn;t even bother to show up.

The ending of this Oscars was more bizarre and awkward than the La La Land debacle.

Wow. You could tell they expected it was going to be a big Boseman moment only for it to be Hopkins.

I do have to say I’m thrilled Hopkins took it.

Why did Frances show up this time? It would have been even more awkward and funny if both of the lead winners weren’t there, despite the producers saving those categories until the end.

Probably wouldnt have but she was favored to win for producer

I’m just laughing because if Frances had not shown up like she usually did this whole season, LOL, the winners would’ve both been no-shows. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

I just love movies. And awards.

20/23. Called Hopkins and McDormand. So happy for the former.

A guy who didn’t show up because he knew that this was supposed to be in the bag for Boseman! I just… cannot.

bfca, the precursor that tried so hard to be like the oscars only got one acting category right. Doh

TRASH OSCARS. That show was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe what I just witnessed.

Good luck to any black actress out there, b/c your chances of winning an Oscar in lead actress are virtually nil. I hope that Chadwick Boseman’s widow isn’t too heartbroken over what just happened.

Poor Carey shouldn’t have stayed in the States.

    BAFTA Oscars. Yuck.

The producers embarrassed themselves so, so badly. And they didn’t need to – at all. It’s almost laughable. It was already a poor show, then they capped it off so perfectly. I doubt they’ll be invited back to produce.

However… I love almost all of the winners. Aligned almost exactly with my personal choices in the major categories. Plus, I loved Vinterberg, Youn and a few other speeches.

Not terrible, and lots of it can be let off because of the circumstances, but my god not that Picture/ Acting placement.
