I’m sorry but this Lakeith nomination is ridiculous? He was incredible in the film and deserving but he was also lead. And was submitted lead.

No, Hopkins is not next. Because that was last year when he was one of two popes in a film about two popes.

I know it’s so weird to see people crediting Steven Yeun as the only Asian nominee when Riz Ahmed is just right there
Same happened with Dev Patel back in 2017. He was deemed British POC, erasing his Indian-ness.
They should just say Yeun is the first Asian American to be nominated for an Oscar in acting because he is.

It’s a shame that — considering that its screenplay was written over 20 years ago by David Fincher’s now-deceased father — Mank got into Picture, Directing, and Acting, but NOT Screenplay.
I really need to give a shout out to Nick and especially Priyanka for a stellar job. Like no unwanted banter, no forced jokes, just to the point announcing of nominations. Poor girl also kept getting the Borat categories to announce which was hilarious.

I didn’t forget that Riz was Asian but he is not East Asian. Steven is East Asian and the Academy has some weird bias against East Asian’s which is why his nomination is nice.
