The nomination I loved the most. Even more than Carey Mulligan, Riz Ahmed, Lee Isaac Chung, Yuh-jung Youn, Emerald Fennell, Judas and SoM in Screenplay…

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Even though he’s in Supporting Actor you guys all have to admit that I was right about Lakeith Stanfield and you were wrong. Ha!

As of today, Sacha Baron Cohen is officially an Oscar-nominated actor. Yes, I know he technically has two other nominations in the screenplay categories, but you know what I meant.

Now someone please make Isla Fisher happen at a future Oscars.

it’s a long overdue nomination for him. A true chameleon. I think he should be nominated for best actor in the first Borat.

The irony that one would have thought Claire Foy and Phoebe Waller-Bridge would get nominated before Vanessa Kirby and Emerald Fennell and the latter were like nah.

I forgot how basic the Oscars were. Man being nominated for Best Picture is complete bullshit! Boring and pretentious.

I will, however, take a huge humble pie to the face and admit that I was completely wrong about Sound of Metal, and I’ve never been happier to make a wrong prediction. I’ve been betting against this film that I loved for so long because I honestly never thought that a small indie drama about a man losing his hearing with few super-baity Oscar scenes and mostly subdued performances and craft would ever get this many Oscar nominations. But clearly, the quality of the film was enough to shine through to the Oscar voters. It even got in for Paul Raci, which I wasn’t expecting after his Globe and SAG snubs.

So anyway, I’m happy the film did so well, and now that it has a Best Picture nomination, it’s pretty much guaranteed to win Sound and could very well be the Editing winner as well, though I still think Chicago 7 is more likely to win that award.

I'm back bitches.

In my opinion he would have richly deserved it but the category as it is, is actually extremely good in general. Better than Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress in my opinion, and just shy of Best Actress.

These nominations were anti-Plovies (Play movies).

Martin Scorsese said that is not cinema.

My words I have to eat because I said Tenet was a lock in Score for sure aren’t tasty. Trial in Cinematography also sucks, and Lakeith in Supporting Actor makes no sense. But otherwise they are … kind of perfect? At least for what could have happen. Two nominations for Borat, Maria and Paul getting in, PYW getting Editing, Vinterberg in Directing (I almost screamed, he sooooo deserves), Judas in Cinematography … they did good.
P.S.: Priyanka was longer in the video reading the Borat nomination than she was in The White Tiger lol. I liked what she and Nick did. They obviously have good chemistry and the jokes were short and sometimes even funny.

For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
- Best Picture
- Best Director
- Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
- Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
- Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
- Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
- Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
- Best Original Screenplay

Well I still remember when you said Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was locked ahead of Promising Young Woman
