If they give the Cecil b demile award to viola or to frances..i think it will help them alot.
Unless they give it to Sophia or glenn if they haven’t gotten it???
A little bit of Magic never hurt anybody.

January 17, 2021 at 7:03 pm #1203988779They don’t deserve Cecil B. DeMille’s at this point of their careers.
I want Betty White to win the Carol Burnett (she’s 99!) and altho she’s done more tv than movies probably, Cicely Tyson to win the Cecil B. DeMille (she’s 96!).
It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

I think Matt Bomer is also an Academy member. He loved the movie as well.
January 17, 2021 at 11:07 pm #1203989006If Mulligan can take bafta plus another awards (if in this situation nobody sweeps ) with an Screenplay and a surprise Best picture nom I could see her winning. But without that
January 17, 2021 at 11:25 pm #1203989014i hope so but..
”Smh Oscar pundits who admit that they still haven’t seen Miss Juneteenth. On a podcast no less. Even after Nicole Beharie won the Gothams. That’s what happened last year with Clemency.”
and people wonder why pundits have mediocre white women on the top of thier predictions.
January 18, 2021 at 12:15 am #1203989059Best winner of the last decade. What an icon.
oh please. Let’s not exaggerate things. Lupita didn’t even give the best supporting performance in her own film. Also, Sally Hawkins and Julia Roberts were better. She was better than a lot of terrible supporting actress winners of the last decade though especially Patricia, Regina and Laura

January 18, 2021 at 12:20 am #1203989074Viola Davis doesn’t deserve to win shit, but I don’t think winning Philadelphia or whatever would be a jinx to her chances. We all saw Renée Zellweger break the NBR curse last year

Helena Zengel for News of the WorldJanuary 18, 2021 at 12:27 am #1203989083I finally got to see Promising Young Woman. I loved the film and I guess I’m the only one who loves the ending. For me, it was emotional reading those text messages and seeing the delivered necklace after Cassie’s disappearances with that song that was playing. I love it. Carey Mulligan was good and would be a deserving nominee, but I think she’s being overrated on this board. I was expecting one revolutionary performance. Y’all should calm down with the way you praise performances so that one doesn’t go in with very high expectations.
Vanessa Kirby is still the best for me. She should be winning without a sweep (I hate sweeps)

CASE SOLVED
January 18, 2021 at 3:00 am #1203989118I just cannot imagine Carey Mulligan winning for THAT performance in THAT movie. It just doesn’t seem like a lead actress Oscar winning performance to me. Like I keep saying I will be pleasantly surprised if it happens though.
