I don’t agree with everything that happens but on gold derby in the best actress forum fights are gonna happen people get dragged called out make questionable crazy remarks like lol its just the way it is like other years and besides the really bad stuff its like a free comedy circus shit show for free….the best actress thread offers good entertainment for 0 dollars its honestly great tbh.
January 18, 2021 at 5:25 pm #1203990440Theyre campaigning for Loren to get a SAG nomination.
January 18, 2021 at 5:37 pm #1203990453Speaking of hyping up performances its nothing revolutionary or no Meryl Streep in Sophie’s choice lol.
But Zendaya performance as Marie is imo the best performance of the lead actress contenders not no dramatic stuff but the character marie is very layered and the way Zendaya deliver’s the monologue’s are beautiful and powerful and she has like 3 Oscar scenes.
The girls are lucky Malcolm and Marie is not a best picture contender cause she would have an emmy and a Oscar this year but hopefully her a24 biopic gets more noms if pushed for awards season.
January 18, 2021 at 5:57 pm #1203990483I thought this feeling be gone by now but something is telling me these golden globe noms are gonna be a sh+t show lol.

Wholeheartedly agree with this and more specifically the mention about her critics performance.
I think what is sometimes overlooked when we look at critics awards is that we focus on who is at the top but not how well some of the other contenders in the same category do. Allison Janney, Sam Rockwell and Frances McDormand all overtook Laurie Metcalf, Willem Dafoe and Sally Hawkins at the televised awards but they didn’t come out of nowhere. They all had consistently strong showings (Janney winning 10 awards vs Metcalf’s 26 pre televised, Rockwell winning 13 as opposed to Dafoe’s 25, McDormand winning 14 vs Hawkins’ 15).
It is quite significant that after McDormand jumping far ahead of the pack pre Promising Young Woman‘s release that Mulligan currently has 10 critics awards (and is the only other contender with more than 2 critics awards in this category) as opposed to McDormand’s 13. Especially at this stage. It could suggest that by the time of the Oscars she could overtake her .
This methodology applies to every acting category at the televised as well.
