I just can’t stop thinking about Nomadland and how it didn’t even look like Frances was acting for one second. I know it’s her job and stuff but I couldn’t believe that the woman playing Fern is an A-list Hollywood legend and not an actual nomad. This is crazy

This is a performance so good and restrained I am afraid it is going to potentially get snubbed from nominations in favour of big, flashy, and ultimately worse performances. I get that feeling I got with Amy Adams in 2016…

Negga manage to get a big couple of critics associations noms… So, far I think only North Dakota has nominated Winslet for Best Actress

Flanigan puts in the least possible effort needed to convey all that she does. It is great realism acting; she is not doing much at all, but we see a girl who is steadfastly resolved on her mission despite all of the obstacles that come her way. There’s never even a flicker of doubt in her about what she needs to do. She doesn’t have trust in anyone in her life to truly be vulnerable with them, making the questionnaire scene all the more of a necessary release.

Watched nomadland. Frances was playing frances lets be real. Very good performance though even though the most satisfying part was finally seeing her break towards the end.

I enjoyed the film though.

How is 2 time Oscar winner  2x emmy winner rich iconic legendary Frances McDormand married to one of the most famous film duos of modern cinema (coen brothers) playing a homeless woman in grief trying to figure out the next phase of her life as a nomad playing her self lol fern and frances are not the same lol.

This “Frances is playing Frances” argument must stop, now. It was already exhausting last time with 3 billboards, but with Nomadland it’s even more ridiculous. Fern has nothing to do with Frances, deal with it.
