What I mean is that she didn’t shine as much as she would have with a better script. Like, she was amazing in that final courtroom scene, but the ridiculousness of the scene itself took me out of it completely. But that’s just me.

The first 30 minutes are very good, but I will say that my mother, who also saw the movie and went through something similar herself (though not quite the same), was not at all convinced or impressed by Vanessa’s acting during it. I was impressed, but I am a 21-year-old male, so what do I know? That does not mean anything, but I thought I would mention it.

Luca spilling she was excellent but with a script that bad and that European Direction that’s just not how you get an lead actress Oscar not being in a best picture nom.

Since when?! And if there’s one, the list isn’t common knowledge considering Focus just made a SAG FYC for the movie, with ensemble being one of the campaigned categories.
